Sun King presents Sarasota Ace Race
North Water Tower Park - Sarasota FL

Saturday August 9th @ 1:00pm

Each Autumn, disc golfers from around the world gather at their local courses for one purpose: to throw aces! No putting, no approaching... just runnin' at the chains.

To add to the challenge and excitement, players all throw the same model disc: a brand new, never-seen-before Discraft prototype disc that is introduced each year especially for Ace Race. Everyone gets a player's pack that includes (2) super premium mid-range discs, a mini, sticker, UV sunglasses and a premium water bottle... your entry fee is still only $25!

Format: Two rounds of 18 holes, with a brief intermission inbetween rounds. One throw per hole per player - no putting!

Course layout: Holes are generally between 125 and 225 feet.

Entry fee: $25

Rules of play: Players are required to use the player package discs, and only these discs. If a disc is lost, the player has the option of using the second disc from the package. Only one throw per player per hole. 10 points are awarded for any player who throws a hole-in-one or "ace". 3 points are awarded for any player that hits any part of the basket on the fly, except the pole. If no "aces" or basket hits are recorded on a hole, then 1 "pity" point is awarded to the player who is closest to the basket. All aces and hit baskets count for points, "pity" points are only awarded when no player throws and ace or hit basket.

After all players in the group have thrown, discs are picked up and the group moves directly to the next tee. Players will play the first round of 18 holes and then take a brief intermission while scores are calculated and the groups are reshuffled based on total points from highest to lowest. Participants will then play one final round of 18 holes. The player with the most points after 36 holes will be declared the winner of the flight and will be awarded a disc golf package worth $200!
